Quick question about money in account

Hello,

I have a quick question about maintenance funds for student visas. Currently my £7200 (actually £8000) is sitting in my bank for 28days, because i am doing my visa extension next month. my college advised me to "use" the account, like to show some account activity like removing some money and adding money on random days, so it looks like the account is in use. Is this really necessary?

My account doesnt even have an ATM card, although it is possible to order one.

Do I really need to show account activity?

There is no requirement to show activity per se but depending on your bank and the format of the bank statements sometimes it is necessary to have a transaction at the end of the 28 days as some statements do not show a closing balance which is possibly why they have advised you that.
