Tier 1 extension or ILR

Hi All,

First of all thanks for creating such a great forum.

I came to UK in Oct 2003 on student visa. I got my SEGC in Nov 2005.

I received my Work Permit in Nov 2006. If I have stayed to same company I can apply for ILR in Nov 2011.
But for some reason I applied for Tier 1 and received approval in Aug 2008 for 3 years.

Now my question is, Should I wait till Nov 2011 and applied for ILR OR I have to apply for Tier 1 extension and when I complete my 5 years (in Nov 2011) then only I can submit my ILR??

Hi Rahul

I think you just need to finish 5 years continous period in the UK. It can be fully on either work-permit or tier1 or it can be a mix of both.

But innitial work permit isued for different company then the one I am working for. Does it still valid?

That should not be matter since your work permit was issues in Nov 2006. You are still eligible for ILR
