Tier 1 visa on Expired Passport

Post by pathanman » Sun Jul 24, 2011 8:03 pm

Is a Tier 1 visa on an Expired Passport still valid i.e. can a person still work legally? Note I am assuming no replacement passport has been obtained (which will DEFINITELY be needed when travelling in/out of the country).

I've found only one similar thread (where the reply was that visa is valid for use):

However then I am confused why UKBA has made a special exception for ILR on an expired passport (i.e. why doesn't the language state ILR+tier1 visa is valid on expired passport):

Its Ok..You can still work. Only thing is you would need to carry two passport every time. And if someone ask just show them the page where it would be written by embassy that the passport holder has valid visa...
