Student>HSMP (nov 2006)>ILR Jan 2012

Post by sum1alia » Sun Jul 24, 2011 10:13 am

Thanks in Advance for your advice and sorry if its repetition, I am reading the advises from last 3-4 months and bit confused, please correct / advice / guide and it will be a great favour

Entered Uk Aug 2003 (student Visa)
completed Masters 2005
stayed on student visa (with professional studies) until i got my HSMP

HSMP approved in Nov 2006
Passport stamped for HSMP on 15th March 2007 (for 2 years)
Wife came on dependent visa in July 2007
HSMP extension (3years until 28th Feb 2012)

2 kids boy 2008 (with Pakistani passport) , girl 2010 (no passport yet)

same job from last 5 years (approx £17000 a year now - started at £ 16000)

I have an old (manual pakistani passport)

Please advise,

- Am I eligible for ILR application on or after 28th Jan 2012?
- If i go for PEO, do i need to take my family with me
- Do i need to apply for my kids as well?
- Do i need to get passport for my daughter (pakistani) before i apply for ILR.
- How much is the total cost of combine family ILR application
- Do i need to maintain any funds or is there any income (monthly /annual requirement)
- Do i need to apply for machine readable passport before i apply for ILR
- Personal application Vs postal, which one is good
- Any other advice / requirements, please

- I have documentation
- Passports (mine, wife, son)
- 2 years bank statements
- 5 years pay slips (same job)
- First approval letter (copy), extension letter
- Job offer letter (2006)

I know some of this information is already there but, I am trying to get it in on case, please try to understand that i am worried about this last extension
and your very kind advise will make a very big difference

Thanks

1 YES
2 NO
3 If kids born in UK, you need not apply for their ILR. If born in Pakistan you must include kids in your application and must have their passports
4 See above
5 Fee given on form you+number of dependants
6 NO
7 Preferably should have machine readable
8 PEO more expensive. Postal sleepless nights for God knows how long. Peace of mind vs cost. Judge yourself
9 Advice be positive
What about P 60,s.

I think the HSMP time would start from the date the passports were stamped as he was already in country, therefore he can apply with family 28 days prior to the stamp date i.e 15 March 2012 minus 28 days, but definitely prior to the expiry of current visa . However, he seems to be covered under the JR.
