VISA Officer conducted English Exam after submitting IELTS

Hi All,

Last month My friend who applied under PR was called for the interview. At interview VISA officer conducted his English Proficiency exam.

VISA officer said you IELTS is not applicable in former law. So you have to go through the exam.

If the IO is not convinced about your friends proficiency in the English language then he has no option but to take the test to get the maximum 16 points. He can decide to ignore the request for testing but that would lead to his/her own demise since the IO will make a judgement based on the evidence he/she has been presented with.

Taking the test won't hurt so advise your friend to take it if CIC has requested it. IELTS has for a year now become mandatory for most applicants and at different visa posts.

I mean to say VISA officer conducted the English Profiecy exam during Intverview to access the candidate in IRP Regulations 1978. He said IELTS exam is not applicable in IRP Regulations 1978 so you have to give exam.
