Previous Earnings - possible to claim 13 months earnings?

Post by wf » Fri Jul 29, 2011 10:13 pm

Is this possible? Here is a simplified example:

Claiming for period 8 Jan 2010 - 7 Jan 2011

1) Say I am usually paid on the 10th of the month, for work done the previous month, so I would have payments:

10th Jan 2010
10th Feb 2010
...
10th Nov 2010
10th Dec 2010

(12 payments in total)

2) Now what if the payment for Dec 2010 is put through a few days early, say 5 Jan 2011?

There are now 13 payments within the 12 month period.

Can I claim for all 13 payments provided the 'processed date' on the payslips and the actual payment date fall within the 12 month period?

I don't think it would be a deciding factor, but it is worth mentioning the payslips do not specify what period was worked, only the processed date.

I am not looking to do anything illegal, and have not seen anything which prohibits this in the rules. I am reasonably sure it would be allowed, but would like other's opinions.

No, it still exceeds 12 months. The fact that it's less than 13 months does not make it 12 months. The rules say 12 months, not 12 months and 3 weeks.

As mulderpf says I'm afraid wf - it's 13 months worth of income that has accrued.

Cheers, looking at it again I see that is the case.
