It doesn't matter. However, it would be best to have some bills in joint names ready for when you apply for ILR. You'll need both names on your council tax bill.
Just one point. Wouldn't your landlord agree to put both names on the tenancy agreement? This would be normal. For the purposes of the spouse visa, if the landlord will only provide a tenancy in your name only, you should ask him to put in writing that your wife can live with you in the property so that you can submit this with your visa application.

Casa is right!

My husband (also Egyptian) and I had the exact same query.

Asmy partner was with me in the UK before we married in Cairo, my landlord wrote a new Tenancy Agreement with my husbands name on it, and we both signed it.

However, we were told, that the landlord can adjust a claus in the agreement staing it is ok for you to live there.

We also submitted a letter from my landlord authorising him to live there, adequate space, a bit about how long I had been a tenant etc. We also included a the original mortgage statement may 2010 - may 2011..

Hope that helps!!!
Alhamdulilah for habibi..
