Employer asking to stop coming.

Hi

My friend who is on spouse visa which runs out today. Has has applied for ILR a month ago. He is working for NHS through a agency and the agency has a policy of enquiring Border agency to check about the immigrant. Apparently Border agency says because the candidate is a Non-EU immirant they do no hold any information about him.

Now the NHS agency has asked him to stop coming from tomorrow although technically he is allowed to continue to work until the decision is made by Home Office. I am not sure what are his choice. Could he asked for a written document from Home Office etc.

His employer can contact the UKBA for confirmation of this right to work
