days between stamped and entry, counted towards out of uk?

Post by Btier1 » Mon Aug 15, 2011 5:19 pm

Hi

Apologise if this was answered before.
Appreciate if you could please clear my doubt on calculate continuous period in UK.

------
Recent document http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

Applications that fall short of the five year continuous period
In some cases, applicants may have been granted five years continuous leave, but will not have spent fiveyears continuously in the UK before their current leave expires. Caseworkers may count the period between entry clearance being granted and the date the applicant entered the UK towards the five years, provided this period was not longer than three months.

----

HSMP was granted in 28 Nov 2007, I entered the country on 13th Dec 2007(extended my visa as Tier 1)

Should the 15 days between 28th nov 2007(stamped) to 13th dec 2007(enter UK) be counted as out of UK?

Thanks

You can use those 15 days to bridge a gap but that depends on if your second grant was to complete exactly five years of leave. Is that the case and is there going to be a gap in your five year leave of more than 28 days?

Thanks for the reply

My extension expires on 28th Nov 2011. Since I can apply 28 days before, I m safe.
I would like to know, if the 15 days should be counted as out of uk(180 days)?

I have made a lot of personal travel outside UK and would appreciate if you confirm if I have to account 15 days to 180 days

Oh, I see now what you mean. No, they are not considered as absent days.
