LTR Application 6 weeks ago

Post by cleangreen » Thu Aug 18, 2011 10:12 am

Applied for LTR 6 weeks ago. sent docs by registered post (I have proof of receipt from Anpost). I am still to receive any acknowledgement :( . Is this normal? Do they acknowledge all applications? Should I contact them?

It's not abnormal. Has the money left your bank account?

I don't understand your reply! They take the payment automatically from the details you provide.

They accept fee only after approval. I just applied for LTR 6 weeks back. I did not receive any acknowledgement of the application from INIS

Fee for Long Term Residency

The prescribed fee for Long Term Residency is €500. Once a decision has been made to grant an applicant Long Term Residency, a letter of approval is issued to the applicant. This letter informs the applicant they have been approved for Long Term Residency and asks that the prescribed fee be submitted within a 28 day time period.

i would advice ringing them just to confirm whether your application was received.
now is the summer holidays period, so many staff members in LTR may be on holidays, thus slower with the acknowledgements

I am currently on stamp-4 valid for next 2 years.

I got my LTR approval letter yesterday after 9 months (applied Dec 2010). Now, they have asked me to deposit €500 in next 28 days.

I am not sure if I should pay or wait for the naturalisation (applied Dec 2010) to come.

In case I pay €500 for the LTR and go for GNIB renewal, probably I will be sent back to come after 2 years when my current GNIB card will be expiring to get a stamp for 3 years from then. So, what is the benefit?

Some people reckon if I take the LTR it speeds up the naturalisation process though there is no concrete evidence for that.

Please let me know anybody has any idea.

Thanks in advance!

Go and spend 500 it will speed up your process . They want that 500 since they spend time and time is money !
