Don't forget me either, I've applied before even Nazia.......
I was tempted to call this morning but I restrained myself.
I hope that before the end of the week half of the remaining May applicants will have received their approvals!

a colleague's experience

Post by rightmove » Mon Aug 22, 2011 4:48 pm

One of my colleague had a strange experience with home office call centre.

he submitted to NCS on 13th May.
called on 4th june

called 1st week of July. he was told that his application reached them on 4th june. he contested that he sent in may but the call centre guy confirmed that according to the system u r in the queue based on of 4th june.

he got his approval 2nd week august. his view is that call centre guys have the ability to put you ahead or behind in the queue and we should avoid calling as they do get pi**ed off and can put ur file behind... every file has an assigned date of entry for processing.

The timeline sounds right. On an average the applications take either 3 or 6 months from submission to approval. I don't think the call center people would have the authority to amend the application status - would be a very surprised if they could amend *anything* in the system ...

I dont think they can change the status of any application or can influence the priority of an application but when I phone on friday she said "your application status is same as last week" which made me think they do log our calls.

Yes, they do log all calls because I called them a day and after few days I called them again & lady told me that when I contacted them last time and status is still same as before. Guys I consider myself to be fit b/w Daniash & Nazia88, as I applied on 11th. :) Cheers.

Good Luck.

hmmm bit strange...the call center people mentioned something about my previous call only after decision was taken....

I disagree with the fact that call center people can change the queue of applications...if they do then its very dangerous...but who know anything can happen in UKBA process

Thanks Nazia, I won't mind who gets it first as long as we all get it soon!! I'm used to randomness by now.

Regarding phone operators being able to set back individual applications out of childish irritation with callers, I really hope for the sake of the reputation of the whole country that this isn't the case. It would be a scandal and certainly grounds for dismissal.
I don't think they routinely DO this, because some of us have called every week and eventually were told that a decision had been taken. However, whether they CAN, well, they may well be able to edit the database. If one of these operators decided to take this liberty of his or her own accord, it would be outrageous and unfortunately we could do little to prove it.

I got in at Maidenhead,Kent. It was relatively easy. Plus I did it a week in advance so may be it was easier. But I don't see major obstacles for Sat appt,if you are willing to travel.

Good Luck

@Nazia - wife's acknowledgment from HO says AN6(2)+ as the type of application...

I saw another post somewhere - can't find the thread now. Just checking if the above is correct for spouse of BC...

I am not sure mate. Didn't ask anyone.

does any one knows the answer?

I assume they dont. coz if they did, they would have mentioned that there should be no cuts on fingers and all that stuff
