Move the UKBA with a tale of expatriate love?isujackson wrote:Thank you.vinny wrote:See also VAT1.5 Frequency and duration of visits.
What I'm wondering is if the 6 months is set in stone or can I move them with my tale of expatriate love?
For example, if i just explain the situation to the ECO and prove I'm moving on from the UK at a specific time if I can be in here longer than the 6 months that is generally allotted?
edit: ok thank you to both posters above. I guess I'll play it by ear and worst comes to worst, we head to the United States earlier than expected.
We would like to stay about a period of 9 months but not of all that will be spent in the UKGreenie wrote:It is not correct that they will give 6 months entry regardless of the stated duration of the visit. They can give less than this in certain circumstances.
So for how many months do you intend to stay in the UK altogether in the 12 month period since you landed.
Yes, In very rare and extreme cases where there is serious doubt about the passenger's intention; otherwise it is always six months or refusal of entry.Greenie wrote:It is not correct that they will give 6 months entry regardless of the stated duration of the visit.
