HSMP General but Critical Info

Post by akhan1 » Tue Aug 29, 2006 9:23 am

I have gone through many messages on the forum but still not quite able to get the answer to my questions. Can someone please answer my questions

1) The initial visa issued for HSMP is 1 year or 2 years or variable?

2) Is there time limit after getting EC to enter UK.

3) If no timelimit is defined and let assume I enter in UK after 1 year of getting EC what impact it will have on my extension application. As per the info I have you need to show them of what you have done in last two years.

I will appretiate early response to my question

What about In country Applications? Is there again 6 months time one can wait for the EC.

Of course I assume the clock starts once the EC is done (as he/she is in the country)

Please remember you have 6 month from the date of HSMP Approval to
get the entry clearance or visa stamped. This visa will be initially stamped for a period of 24 months and theoretically you can enter the UK any time before the expiry of the visa expiry date mentioned in your visa. However, you should also be aware that you have to apply for extension of HSMP visa. And, when you apply for this extension of visa,
you will need to show that you have found a job or started a business in the UK during your first 24 months of visa. In short, you will need time to find a place to stay and then also the job suitable to your financial requirements. So, if you come to the UK with very less time available for these activities, you may find it difficult to convince the HSMP team about your visa extension application.
