I applied for HSMP on 22Aug2006.
Still waiting for the Ref No.

I claimed 5points-Age under 28
I claimed 25 points for my MS(1year) from Australia in Telecomm. Engg.
I claimed 35 points for my Graduate level exp

I worked while i was in 4th yr of my Btech for 1yr6months then i got my visa to Australia for persuing MS there.
I workd there for 1year as Technical Sales Representative in an Australian Company.
Then I came back to India in Nov2004 started working in India from Jan2005 to till date i.e.,1yr 8months

so totally 4years and 2 months till the date applied.

So guys what do u think about claiming the points.
That would be appreciated.

i called on 25th Aug still no case worker assigned its been around 25 days but no case worker assigned. its too late

Stilll waitng for results and praying alot... anyone applied on the same dates?

no case worker assigned till 25/aug (called up and confirmed)

My app is received on 04-aug-06 and ref no emailed on 10-aug-06 but still no case worker is assigned to my application , in this month too much late progress. anyone who has applied in end of july or aug and caseworker is assigned to his application???Anyone?

Called up HO today and was relieved to hear that a caseworker is reviewing the case.

U have applied after me and caseworker is assigned to you, isnt strange?
i am worried its too late to make a decision...

Dear root

Don't worry - it may just be matter of few days.

However, on hindsight, unless I get confirmation from HSMP team again tomorrow that case worker is assigned, I don't want to presume that someone is reviewing it.

Will post updates tomorrow again.

If your experience letter clearly states that this job required expertise of a university degree holder, then I guess things should be smooth.

Ref No Received: 29/08/2006 ( 26,27,28 being holidays)

Now fingers crossed.
By the way how do I know whether Case worker is assigned or not ? HO has not mentioned anything in the email !!

Do I need to call them and find out.
Please adivice.

I sent email 2 days ago asking about my ref number(application received August 23) but did not receive a reply so far...

They normally take 2 working days to reply. You might want to hold on for today.

I notice that many of you are calling to see if a Caseworker has been assigned to your application. Is there a benefit of calling the office? Does an inquiry speed up the process?

No, it doesn't speed up the process in anyway.

However, you may get a comfort feel to see some progress with your case

I again called today, she said there is backlog and lots of application thats why processing is late. my case is still not assigned to a caseworker

Hi there,

I am an Indian national living in Australia since 1997, have done my Bachloers from Australia and have worked for global companies like Nortel Network, Vodafone and Microsoft.

Here's my application process dates

Started perparing for application: 15th of July
Application couriered: 25/08/2006
Application recieved HO: 29/08/2006
Payment Processed: 30/08/2006
Reference No: 31/08/2006
No caseworker allocated yet. But maybe early next week, advised by HSMP WP Customercare person.

I called up HO today again and, as anticipated, was told that the case has not yet been allocated to a caseworker

same happened with me. once near 15 or 20th aug 2 persons told me that caseworker assigned and after wards said no caseworker has been assigned. i think v shud leave it as it and waiting and waiting

Yes, I got an email with my ref number. HSMP team is working now on July 31, 2006.

Surpise! I found the second email from a person saying that my docs are ready for collection by courier! How can it be?! The same day they sent me my ref number?!
