Do I declare a court fine without a criminal record?

Post by chidol4u » Sat Sep 03, 2011 2:21 am

Hello,

I am due for ILR in about 2 years.I've been worried sick about a criminal conviction I thought I had.I was fined by a magistrate court after being reported by east coast train for trying to buy a discounted ticket with my girlfriend's pass.It has turned out to be the worst mistake I have ever made in my life and I have suffered more than my fair share of punishment for this.

Anyway,I had to apply for a US visa recently and I thinking that I had a criminal conviction,I declared that I had one.I was asked to get an APCO police report. To my suprise, when the report came,I had NO TRACE meaning that I never had a criminal conviction.I went ahead to apply for a basic CRB and it came clean as well.

My question now is,when I apply for my ILR,do I have to declare this offence?Does the APCO report and CRB mean that I don't have a criminal record or is it that these searches don't look deep enough.
