Hi all! After I read posts of One Day and Monte, I am a bit scared. The fact, that thoese guys have been waiting for garda vetting for over 1 year is terrifying ( im also medic, applied in July 2009, no desicion yet)
Any other forum members, who are also medics, have the same problems with prolonged Garda vetting?
Please, share your experience, good or bad

Hi patiently waiting,
It's difficult to say what to expect, as I already wrote that i know people in the medical field waiting for more than 3 yrs, others who are also medics applied after us and got it, a friend of mine from Egypt applied April 2009 and he got his cert in the ceremony 12th August (no LTR), also others who applied in last 6 months of 2008 have already got their approvals since the new government started in march, so you might be one of the lucky ones.

One day,

They don't accept that, the report has to come directly form the Garda vetting dept to INIS.

They will take the report but ultimately, criminal record check is between INIS and the Garda.

You can obtain the certificate/Letter but the wording is that, and I will quote "Not to be construed as Proof of No convictions, Garda Vetting ,Security Clearance, Character Check, Character Reference or any cognate construct of same "

I personally think that obtaining one doesn't make any difference.

I did try to ring them probably more than 20 times this morning. The line was busy all the time..... I suppose they just left the line open so nobody can get through.

Either they are too busy working on the documents that are to be sent for the 2 ceremonies in September or still on holidays.

Hey lads,

Just a quick update; obviously with all the approvals going out for the September ceremony a couple of applicants I know got theirs. One of them waited just 9 months since his original application date!

I phoned them up last Thursday and I was told they're still waiting for the outside agencies report to come in. My garda reports were requested in January 2011 and I am a March 2009 applicant. I complete 30 months of waiting next week and.... still waiting.. lol
