Please read this document to learn about and identify the English language requirement for applicants in the PBS dependant category.

The policy doesn't highlight the english language requirement.

Many thanks

I found policy that states clearly about English language requirement for partner.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... icants.pdf

The new English requirement does not apply to the following groups of applicants:

• spouse or partner of Tier 1 and Tier 2 visa applicants
• spouse or partner of a student
• visitors
• refugees or spouses of refugees applying on the basis of family
• reunion
• dependent children
• spouse or partner of an EEA national
• spouse or partner of a member of the armed forces applying under Part 7 of the Immigration Rules
• applicants for indefinite leave to remain

Many thanks Lucapooka

My point was, if the policy guidance does not ask for something then it's not necessary. If the guidance says that the applicant has to be riding on the back of an elephant then you had better hire yourself an elephant. If it does not say this then you don't have to assume that it is a requirement.
