Sponsor's Passport Authentication

Post by paulcarpy » Tue Sep 13, 2011 1:50 pm

Dear All,
I am British and my foreign wife is to apply for her first UK settlement visa from abroad.
Is it necessary to copy EVERY page from my passport and then take it to a solicitor to have it verified/authenticated?
I was planning on sending a copy of just my biometric page...
Any help greatly appreciated.
Paul.

If you have visited your wife in her country, or been to other countries together, it is good to show the immigration stamps in your passport, so copy those pages as well.

Depends on what the local British High Commission directs.

e.g. - as per feedback from people with information about the process in Pakistan, local BHC needs "notarised" copies of sponsor passport. On the other hand, there is no such requirement in India / US.

So check with the local VAC / BHC where you spouse will be applying.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

Does it matter if you get a Notarized copy (by a Notary public) or a solicitors attesting to it (Stamp/signature)?
