Biometric testing... No letter recieved?

Post by wirapundi » Thu Sep 15, 2011 4:43 pm

Hello
I sent my Tier 1 extension application away 7 weeks ago. Payment was taken (about 6 weeks) and I also received the letter of confirmation that the application was received a few days later.

However I've not received any letter or email to arrange biometrics testing. I have not submitted this in the past, so I was/am still expecting this needs to be done and I'm obviously slightly concerned because it seems most people receive the biometric instructions within a few days of the other letter.

Does anyone know if the biometric testing is mandatory, OR if it’s common for this to take so long?

Thanks

Shane

This is surprising. Biometrics is mandatory for everyone who havent registered it previously. Kindly call Biometrics help line which you will find in Biometrics guidance notes and keep your aacknowledgement number ready.
Do this asap as I fail to understd why you realized so late.
Best of luck

Thanks for your response.

Its not really a matter of me relizing so late... Its just that when I call the biometrics appointment number, they cant do anything until I have the letter, and when I call the home office they wont tell me anything until its been 14 weeks...!? .

I have some friends who claim they didnt have to do the biometrics testing, but this doesnt make sense to me and perhpas they were just confused.

Either way its really quite odd, and also quite concerning.

tCan you call biometrics dept and book your appointment. Did you check with them?

I have been following thread for application processing timelines and it has helped me to keep a track on time it usually takes for each and every stage approximately.

I got mine in a weeks time, like most do.

So it is certainly not normal for biometrics letter to come so late.
As far as I know, applications are only processed after biometrics. But I may be wrong. Guess some senior members might be able to throw some light.

I would try and chase home office and Biometrics dept constantly.
All the best
