Maintenance funds for dependant of Tier one visa,

Post by azmat » Wed Sep 21, 2011 12:40 pm

Hi I have tier 1 vis and living in Uk for more than 12 months and now my wife is going to apply for dependant visa.

Can any one please tell me how much maintenance funds are required for myself and for my wife, and for how many months before application.

Funds in my Account are ok for both of us?

Quick response will be highly appreciated.

Regards

Azmat

You are ok to show funds in your account as proof of maintenance. I have seen many debates on this forum about the 800+533 argument, I would go for £800+£533 as that is how i personally interpreted the guidance policy.

Hi
how long has your wife been in the UK ?
As per HO Policy guidance
evidence of £1200 if less than 12 months and
£533 if more than 12 months and the Funds should been maintained in the account for 3 months before the apply date.

So in total for you and your wife it will be

if less than 12 months = £1200+£800(for main applicant)
if more than 12 months = £533+£800(for main applicant)

@mychochot

12 months stay in UK if for main applicant. Not dependant.

My query is does this 12 month has to be continuous stay ?
If I am in UK for last 3 years and in last 12 months, I am away from UK for 3 months. So does that considered as I was in UK more than 12 months ?
