Post by arm » Wed Sep 06, 2006 10:11 am

Hi all members.

Since many of us are interesting in:

1. When EC should be applied after getting HSMP.
2. When they can enter to the UK after getting EC.

Can peaple who take EC and now in the UK answer this questions and
post here the dates.

As some peaple have doubts they can be sure after real answer from you.

Please guys dont ignore this. If you are already in the UK post here please.

Thanks in advance.

1. When EC should be applied after getting HSMP.
Whether you are an in-country applicant or out-of-country applicant, you have 6 months to apply for LTR (in-country) or EC (out-of-country) from the date of your HSMP approval letter.
2. When they can enter to the UK after getting EC.
Here you have to take into account 2 important aspects:-
1. Your ILR count starts from the day you physically enter UK and not the date on which your EC is stamped / issued.
2. When applying for HSMP extension, you will have to provide details about your economic activity in UK in the past 12/24 months.

Though you can enter UK at any point in time while your visa is valid (anytime during the 12/24 month period that your EC is valid for), but all individuals must keep in mind the 2 important points mentioned above, and pland / decide accordingly.

Please also note that there is no rule that says that an applicant MUST be issued a 2 year EC. You might end up with a 1 year EC being issued to you.

Hope this clarifies !!

So does that mean they start counting economic activity from the day you enter, the day you get the EC, or the day the HSMP is approved?

Also, is there a certain amount you need to make in order to qualify for the extension?
