Dependent- Documents for ILR

Post by Somudro » Wed Sep 21, 2011 11:42 am

My ILR is due on 1 Feb 2013 (WP+Tier-1=5 years). My wife is the dependent.
Would you please let me know:

1) What documets are needed to show that me and my wife are living together?
2) How many documents/ types of documets are needs to prove it?
3) What is the time range of these documets?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the reference list.
If I show the letter of my wife- 3 sources:

1) Bank Statements (2 banks)- 2 years
2) driving licenec- Provitional- 2 years
3)GP documents (2 years)

Is this enough? Please.....I need more clarification.

Sush provided a link, and in that link there are further two links, and within those links there is information contained that is in plain english and clearly states as to what is required as proof of cohabition.
Contact an OISC advisor/soilicitor specialising in immigration if you want clarification regarding your particular case.

I was in the same situation couple of days back. I enquired with home office.
If dependent visa is Tier1 dependent and you are applying using SET(O) you don't need to worry about to show the 2 years cohabitation documentation.
Its only applicable if your dependent is in UK with Marriage Visa.

However, I advise to carry which ever documentation you have if possible all.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
KK

Thanks @kamal_ece. This will help.

My wife is in tier-1 visa (not dependent is in UK with Marriage Visa). Another quick questions:

Can we (all) apply using SET(O) - I mean, can I include my wife in the same aplication that I am using for myself or I need a separate form for her?

1. On the question of whether or not you are required to provide evidence(s) of cohabitation, read 10A of SET(O) form and 319E(d).
2. If your wife has been living with you in UK in marriage or in a relationship similar to marriage, for a period of at least 2 years, then she qualifies for settlement at the same time as you. Include her as your dependant in the SET(O) form.
