Sponsoring cousin

Post by boi » Thu Sep 22, 2011 2:23 pm

Hope someone can help.
My cousin came here on a visitor visa, due to expire in dec. She wants to transfer to student visa(she already found a course she likes). She doesnt have a bank account in uk.She will be staying with me during her course(1 year) and I intend to maintain her. I have enough funds to cover her(more than £100 000) in savings. Now I realise they would want money in her name.
1. How can I prove I will be her sponsor?
2. I presume she cant open a bank acount as they always want proof of address etc that she obviously doesnt have.
3. Can anybody suggest a way we can go around this?

thanks in advace.

You can "sponsor" your cousin only if you are her "legal guardian".
She cannot transfer from visitor to Tier 4, but will need to apply for entry clearance from outside the UK.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
