You don't count the day of departure or the day of arrival back into the UK.

There is no exit checks on the UK border at the moment, so only arrivals to the UK are recorded.

Still I would advise you not to "trick" and put your actual travel dates, as these 2 extra days is really not a big deal -- caseworkers are quite flexible with such a minor excess (provided that none of your absences abroad was longer than 90 days in one go). Also, if you had any business trips or annual paid holidays abroad, these can be excluded from that calculation (but still you need to write them down in the form).

hi thanks for your replies, i have 90 days exactly in one go, and 182 days in five years.
one more question is i have is, i have changed the employer in these five years, when the new employer applied he applied for change of employer...as the my job is same category.. so the clearance letter says ''your application has been approved for 60 months'' does it mean 60 months from the date of second clearance letter or from first clearance letter. because my residence permit is till 2014 while my second clearance came in nov 2008.

please clarify this to me .....

Not sure what you are asking but if I understand the query correctly, then - 60 months from the date of second clearance letter
