How Long are US -> UK Fiance Visa Apps Taking to be Appro

Post by hredderson » Sun Oct 02, 2011 12:04 am

Can anyone tell me if they have had a fiance visa recently approved how long the process took from the time they mailed in their supporting docs to when they had their passport back in hand? I know it can take up to 60 days, but I was just wondering if time frames have been faster for most?

I am a US citizen applying for the UK fiance visa.

Also, has anyone used an expediting service for this?

Thank you!

My wife and children just had their settlement VISAs approved. We are Canadian, but the VISAs were processed in New York.

Applied online on September 10th
Biometrics in Toronto on September 13
Email acknowledgement from ECO on September 19
Assigned to Entry Clearance Officer on September 26
Approval of VISAs on September 29

We did not pay for priority service and I honestly did not feel my situation was a sure approval.

Use the expedited service and it'll be approved in less than two weeks. Usually turn over is about 5 days.
I tell it like it is.

Thank you -I am planning to use the expedited service. Does it matter which one? I have been researching a few online - do you have a recommendation as to which one to use?

There's only one. Worldbridge. You can't use any other anymore since the rules have changed on expediting services.

I just wanted to provide an update for anyone following this thread (I am the original poster) -

- Completed Online Application October 7th
- Biometrics Appointment completed on October 11th
- Supporting Documents w/ Application over-nighted via FedEx on October 11th
(used World Bridge Priority service)
- Email confirming receipt of materials at 4pm CST on October 12th
- Email confirming visa approved and issued at 10am CST on October 13th
- Passport with visa and all original documents submitted with application returned and in my possession by 11am on October 14th

AMAZING. We are so happy and to be honest, while pulling the application and supporting documents together was a lot of work, the actual process once everything was mailed could not have gone smoother. Good luck everyone!!!
