Static wrote:Hi,
I am currently in the UK with my husband who is a British citizen on a 6 month visitor's visa. I am a South African citizen. He has now been transferred to his company's branch in Ireland. I would like to go with him and we plan on settling there. I am getting conflicting information from different sites and really need to know what the requirements are. According to most sites, I can apply for a residence card on arrival and don't need to go back to my country of residence first. Is this true? We are due to move there next week and I am obviously quite panicked. Please help!

You may not find someone well versed in Irish immigration law on an online forum. Not many people are interested in going there compared to the United Kingdom.Static wrote: According to a lady that I telephoned at the Irish Consulate in London I can just arrive. This sounds a bit too easy to me, hence me doing further research.
