Is it legal to start working with new employer once the HSMP approval letter is received. Or do we need to get FLR(IED) endoresed on the passport before commencing work ?

Can you please point me to legal guideline document in this matter ?

You are in the UK already? If so, in what capacity? That is, what type of visa do you have at the moment? And when does that visa expire?

No it's not, you only hold the HSMP permission when it is stamped into your passport.

WoodieG, not necessarily so, in the sense that his existing visa might give him permission to do that work, which is why I asked for details of that visa.

I am on work permit ( eligible to work with employer A ) valid till Apr 2010.

I would like to start work with employer B once my HSMP is approved.

Will it be legal to start work with new employer B once I receive my HSMP approval letter , before FLR ( IED ) stamped on my passport ?

No, whilst you can continue to work for Employer A, you cannot work for Employer B or anyone else in the UK until you have a new visa in your passport.
