Student Batch Scheme

Post by dadeal001 » Thu Oct 20, 2011 11:57 am

Hi guys,

Has anyone used the Student Batch Scheme before? How long did it take to get a response from the Home Office through the scheme? I hear it is supposed to be faster.

Cheers

you can only apply though the student batch scheme if you make your application through your university and they use the scheme.

It isn't any quicker than applying yourself but it does mean that your university's international student adviser can chase your application and send further documents for you if required before the decision for example.

Hmm.. Thank you.

Surely it should be faster than posting it to a general section as it is more specialised. A number of universities also mention that it is faster than making an application independently and in their experience receive application feedback in less than a month.

I would like to hear from a student who has actually used the scheme.

I am speaking from experience - I use the scheme all of the time and can tell you that applications are not processed any quicker - they generally take 4 weeks from biometrics but the biometrics letter is not sent out for a few weeks, therefore applications generally take longer than a month.

Oh alright then.

In my experience of applying individually it takes between 5 - 6 weeks after the biometrics to get a response.

I applied through the student batch scheme on the 7th of September after 2 unsuccessful applications and due to God knows whatever reasons didn't get my biometrics letter till the 10th of this month (They really are as careless and they are as methodical  ). Hoping to get a response within 2 weeks or so. Sigh..
