Working Hours Requirement

Post by dr_fish13 » Thu Oct 20, 2011 4:38 am

Hi
I am with PSW and would like to switch to tier 2 in April 2012. Currently, I am working 30 hours/week with pro-rated salary. According to my employer, after 3 months but before I apply, the working hours will be 37.5 hours/week and the salary will be above the HO requirement.

1. Do I qualify for Tier 2 by working 30 hours/w for few months and 37.5/w few months in the required 6 months employment for PSW?

2. Does it matter if I earn less now as long as I earn more than the HO requirement before I apply?

Thanks in advance

yes, that should be fine, it doesnt matter what you earn now BEFORE you apply for Tier 2, but once you get the visa u MUST earn what's required of you.
Hope that helps.

1. I think the last 6 months payslips is to prove that you're working for the company for the x amount of months. However I believe this has to be a full time role. Not sure your 30 Hrs a week qualify for this ? Wait for an expert advise.

2. No as long as you work full time hrs (37.5 a week) and earn the required amount according to your job title as seen on SOC you're fine.
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on :)

1. explain the situation to your employer.
2.write down the question in plain and concise form.
3.ask your employer to ring ukba employer's help line and pose that question to them
4.????
5. profit
