Tier 1 (General) extension queries

Post by narendc » Sat Oct 22, 2011 11:08 pm

Hello,
I'm providing along with my application, bank statements and my employer payslips to claim points on my previous earnings. These are 12 months before one month from date of application (means I have from 28th Sep 2010 to 28th Sep 2011). Do I still need any other documents to support my 'Maintenance Funds'? I think this should have been already supported from my bank statements which have got 3 months transactions. Correct me if I'm wrong, thanks.

Cheers,
Naren

Yes you are right, but you will have to apply by 27th October.

Remember, you can show your earnings of any '12 month period' that fall in last 15 months immediately before the application date.

But maintenance funds of three months must fall in last four months immediately prior to your application date.

You said '3 months transactions'. It is important that required minimum funds must have been maintained at all times during these three months.

You should explain this in a cover letter that this one financial statement covers your earning as well as maintenance requirements. Obviously the applications form will differentiate both periods.

If you want to apply after 27th October, you can do so until 27th December but then you will just have to make sure that the balance of the account never went below the minimum required mark for 'consecutive three months' in 'last four month period' of your application date.

I'm bit concerned now as my Tier 1 visa expiry is on Nov 24th 2011. Still, I haven't received my last two month bank statements which I'm expecting in a weeks time. When at the latest can I apply for my Tier 1 extension application by post?

Appreciate your help. Please tell me if you have applied lately and got your visa approved, that'll give some confidence to me, thanks.

Cheers,
Naren
