Maintenance Fund not held for 90 days

Post by Rehana123 » Sun Oct 23, 2011 10:19 pm

My visa needs to be extended but I won't have had the maintenance fund for 90 days. I would have it for 40 days only.
The reason is my mum passed away and I had to fly home. I also had funeral and medical expenses to deal with. I am not sure what will happen to my application.
Does the HO take account of exceptional cases? Would they allow me extra time todemonstrate that I could meet this requirement?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you do not meet the requirements for extension on the day of the application then the application will be refused.

That said, you can use one / multiple bank account(s) in your name (or as a joint account holder) anywhere in the world to demonstrate that you meet the "maintenance funds" requirement.

I do sympathize with you Rehana123 on this passing away of your mother. May her soul rest in perfect peace.

Sushdmehta, what other options are there?

I mean, is it possible to leave the country and apply out-of-country after the maintenance funds has been held for 90 days?

Or is it that the window to apply closes once an applicant fails to meet the mandatory requirements on/before the date leave expires?

Extension can only be applied for from within the UK.
Mandatory requirements are called so because they are "mandatory".

This may be a long shot but could i use the available balance on my credit card to demonstrate the maintenance fund? Or does it have to be a savings fund?
