extension of dependent work permit due to infection

Post by Goggy24 » Mon Oct 24, 2011 3:35 pm

hi,

I have a friend who has been transfered out of the UK. He has flown out of UK but his family is still in UK waiting to join him on 26 October ( Wed). Their work permit expires on 28th October ( Friday)

however one of their children has contacted chicken pox and is at a highly infectious stage and will not be permitted to travel for atleast a week which means that they will over stay their work permit by about 5 days.

Is there any way the work permit can be extended for a week or is their an alternative solution to this issue.

thanks

Staying in UK for no more than 28 days after expiry of leave should be okay.

In response to the specific query, the leave cannot be extended in the way you wish.

Perhaps that (settlement) is not the intention.
