Thanks. What about the photos? Should they be copied as well? We don't especially need them back as we have all digital copies and our own prints, but wonder if UKBA need the copies for any other reason?

Thanks!

Thanks.

I have just noticed on the Property Inspection Report that there is an extra e in my husband's surname. I can't believe I didn't see this before. The inspector also specifically asked me about the spelling of the name on case they reject the letter and I gave the correct one. Will this be a problem? All of the legal documents otherwise have the correct spelling. I'm now wondering whether it's best not to put it in.

Any thoughts?

Well, the document is the only document about the property with my husbands name on it. The property inspection report has my name as the person who is inviting my husband and his name as the person who will stay.

Otherwise I have the land registry document and utility bills in my name only.

Thanks. I'm also not sure how important it is but I think I'll try and get it changed...worried that any little thing can cause a problem.

Thanks, it's Ok and fixed. I went to get a new one today:-)

I'm also wondering about bank statements as there will be gap from the date of the last transaction on the original statement and me travelling to Cairo. Surely this will be OK? Maybe a week-10 days difference. I will get up until Friday this week and I travel Sunday, we have a couple of papers to sort in Cairo, then make the application.

hi,
my husband got his visa from cairo almost 2 years ago. I didnt actually send duplicate photocopies of anything...i simply send originals of everything and kept copies for myself.

Our folder was similar to yours, although I did also include cards, weddings birthdays, fedex receipts, and my bank statements were online ones which I printed off in Egypt ad only 3 months. (Many people say just to send originals), pics of me with his family and him with my mum etc when she visited.

I also printed off local jobs which my husband would be qualified to apply for in my area, aswell as a copy of his CV with his qualifications and certificates etc and a work and charactor for him, and a charactor reference for me.

I did a contents page and separated everything with dividers.

Good luck!

nightmare....just more work to do, but it will be worth it. My husband was very fortunate, he applied just before the english language test came into force and arrived in england luckily before the unrest started.

Good luck...hope you hear soon and be patient !

Phone call from UKBA

Post by mego_1980 » Tue Nov 01, 2011 6:42 pm

Hi,

My wife applied for spouse visa from cairo on 5th sept.
Today i had a phone call from UKBA in london to verify some details in her application.
The phone call took about 20mins and the lady from UKBA asking me lots of questions. I am worried about the outcome especially because they took 20mins and calling from london and not from the embasy in cairo.

Any advise

I think this waiting killing all of us.
I am very very bad to remember the dates and when they phoned me I was very busy at work and they asked me about the first time we met as I was in hurry I gave them wrong year but apart from this I have answered all questions correctly. I don't know if this answer will affect my wife application especially because she is pregnant at the moment and I don't want her to stress herself because of this application. What do you think guys?

Please advice

Mego

Hi Mego

I would say as long as you answered all of the other questions correctly then they should overlook that. I would hope so, I was think a lot of people get nervous on these calls

I am sick of waiting too and the visa application centre is closed now for a weeks holiday which is just adding to the waiting

Hi,

We have finally completed our application and delivered it today. So now we start the wait. Hopefully it will be a positive outcome and not too long but we're prepared for whatever comes:-)

Thank you everyone who replied our questions and gave advice and input all the way. It's appreciated as in the end their have been so many bits and pieces and every step and thought whether things should be this way or that. I think we wouldn't have managed so well this far without the people on this forum.

Wish you all well in your applications and continuing helping people!

A
