2010 Citizenship Applications Approval

Post by xxxtieee » Thu Sep 15, 2011 10:16 am

Things are definitely improving but not the status updates.

2 people who applied for Citizenship in January 2010 - on the basis of 5 years residence received their approval letters in the beginning of September 2011.

Any one else who applied in 2010 with an approval yet?

That's not early...
In all countries in the world...it takes less than 1 year

applying in Jan, 2010 and getting in Sep, 2011 is about 20 months like

I also applied in 2010,but the very end of year and i still haven't got any reply from them, but i can tell you that both of my parents applied for naturalisation in 2010.One in january and the other in march. They received approval at the beginning of july and got certificate of naturalisation at the end of july.Applied for passport now,so waiting.A lot of people here are talking this and tlaking that,6 months, some groups have priority like i thought that myself, but now im starting to think that they are clearing backload from all sides, whatever gets to their hands. So hopefully,we will get our own soon by the Grace of God. Good luck to everyone! :)

Hi xxxtieee,

The 2 people who got the approval in September, did they have apply for LTR also and did they have LTR, or they never applied for LTR after applying for Naturalization?

I am asking because i think the process is significantly faster if the department knows the applicant also has been successful in their LTR application.

Thanks

The following are just my views based on people applying on the basis of 5 year residency.

There seems to be atleast 3 processes underway:

1. Fore those who applied before mid 2008 . Someone told me that these applications were being processed in Dublin. And this seems to be the slowest.
2. Application from 2009 onwards: They seemed to have gotten a quicker response - this is the process which has reached processing 2010 applications now. I heard that these were being processed in Tipperary.
3. The applications after the news application-forms were put in place. Multiple approvals already out.

An interesting approach.

Called today about an April 2010 application. Was given the standard message about waiting for external reports.

However, this is better than last month when i was told that they had not begun processing the application yet.

So, seems to be some sign of movement for 2010 applications...

In terms of getting through, i started calling at around 10.40am with auto-redial every 10 secs. Got through at 11.39 and then an on-hold time of 13 mins in the queue.

Thanks... some good info there. Thanks for that. I applied in April too and it will be interesting to know when any of us hear from them.

i just heard that someone from the people i know got approved this week. he applied around september 2010, and was granted LTR around june 2011, and now granted citizenship in October 2011. definately LTR speeded the things up for him.

got approve letter today, applied on July 2010, had 5 year working visa in IT section.

Granted LTR 5 years stamp in Aug 2011(applied on Mar, 2011), hope this helps.

Ok. Called today to check on an application from April 2010 (number in the 3500's).

Was told that application not send to minister as yet. Would be processed early next year.

So here's hoping for Jan/Feb 2012.

Seems to me from the posts on this board that the fast tracked applicants are those who have had recent LTR approvals - i.e. this year.

I applied around your time as well. Will update this thread and the main thread when I hear anything.
