Tier 1 Dependent Visa for baby born in UK,applied from India

Post by scorpio2818 » Tue Nov 01, 2011 9:26 am

Hi,

I tried to search on the forum but couldn't find the answer.

My second child is Born in UK this May who currently holds an Indian passport. We need to travel to India urgently.

I am planning to apply for his first dependent visa at Chennai Embassy.

How much shoould be the maintenance fund in my Bank account?
Me & other 2 depenedents( wife & other child) are in Uk for more than 2 years.

is it 800 + 533 + 533 + 533 = £2399
or 800 + 533 + 533 + 1600 =£3466

I would be grateful if someone can clarify.

None of the above. It's 533. You are making one separate and individual application rather than an application that is being submitted at the same time as the PBS migrant and other dependants.

Thanks for the reply.

But isn't it when we normally apply for a depenedent visa we need to show main applicant's maintanance. That is what i read in this forum.

It may be what you have read on the forum but that does not mean it's necessary or required. That situation is necessary only when applying at the same time as the PBS migrant. A lot of incorrect information is often cited and the myths and rumors are often mistaken for facts. It would be better to read the rules (Appendix E).

Of course, this conversation is purely academic if, over the past 3 months, you have already held those amounts that you have mentioned (or more) and are merely asking what the correct minimum amount should be.

I did maintain £2399 but less than £3466, hence i wanted to get some clarity.
