Tier 1 querries

Post by jamiluddin » Wed Nov 02, 2011 7:55 pm

Hi,
My tier 1 visa will expire in 22nd April 2012. I will have to show 32000 pounds income for my extension. I fell short of 4000 pound from my main job ,but i worked part time in a restaurant. I got paid cash weekly ,got my payslip and i have put the net amount in my bank account every week and on my statement the transactions showed as 'RABA indian SAL' . I am little worried as i got paid cash. the accountant of the restaurant would issue me a letter saying that all my tax and NI have been paid if i tell him .Do you think it will be a good idea to take a letter from him.

My questions are
1. Will i have any problem as i got paid cash?

2 i dont have any job contract for this part time job ,do i need to submit any job contract letter?

3. Another question is that I will be in uk 10 yrs in Feb 2013 ,so i would be able to apply for ILR in Jan 2013 .Considering that can i apply for extension in Jan 2012 rather than wait until April 2012 ,I will show my income for the period of 5 th Jan 2011 -5th Jan 2012.

Thanks in advance

IMHO, should be fine if the description clearly shows "sal", i.e.- salary.

thank you sushdmetha ,the description shows ''sal'' clearly, but due short of space bank staff can not put the full word ''salary''. does this really matter?

No, it is self-explanatory.

Many banks follow the same practice - guess it's a software restriction (to save text space).

1. Already answered.
2. There is no requirement to provide an employment contract.
3. Any consecutive 12 months period within the 15 months preceding the date of application - as the policy guidance clearly states.

Tier 1 query

Post by jamiluddin » Sat Nov 26, 2011 9:22 pm

Thanks Sushdmetha for your reply , Its a relief knowing that getting paid cash in part time job will not effect my application. As i have 2 jobs ,will my case be straight forward ,will it be ok to apply my extension application myself or its better to apply through agencies who takes a lot of money.

That's 13 months, not 12.

Because you would have 13 payslips and not 12.

Kind Regards

I think you wanted to say 5 Jan 2011 to 4 Jan 2012. If your pay-month starts on the 5th (it should then end on the 4th of the following month presumably), and then your year will be 5 Jan 11 to 4 Jan 12, (i.e. 365 days) - but not on the 5th of Jan as that day will be the first day of the following month.

Thanks
Reading this post may help you understand what is an "earning period".
