Child Trust Fund vs Junior ISA

Post by hml9 » Sat Apr 16, 2011 7:23 pm

Hi,
my son is born May 2010 in the UK. We have no recourse to child benefits (I am from Morocco and my wife from Ukraine)
The home office only delivered his ID card last week. (Tier1 dep)

The CTF was discontinued Jan 2011.
The plan for Junior ISA is to start from November.
Only children born on or after 3rd January 2011 can apply apparently.

Do we have any option to open a tax-free savings account for him?

The detailed Junior ISA regulations have yet to be announced. We shall just have to see wait and see what they say.
