I have a question about maintenance funds and supporting evidence, as we are about to apply for a spousal visa. I should be very grateful for any help that forum members can provide.

I have about £12K invested in stocks but I understand this cannot be used as support for meeting the maintenance funds requirement - is this correct?

With regard to my bank account over the last 6 months, for the first 5 months it has varied from about £500-£3,000 and for the last month it has shown a balance of about £6,000.

I'm earning £45K and have kept payslips from the past 10 months, I'm living with parents so I'm paying no rent but I am slightly worried that my bank account balance over the past 6 months hasn't been impressive.

Should I hold off applying for the visa (we're getting married in 2 weeks time :D) until I have shown a 'healthier' bank balance for at least 6 months or do you think the above would be fine?

Thanks.
The first question that would pop into a person's mind is how does someone who's on 45k a year, probably around 35k after tax ie. approz 3k per month, end up spending so much when living with parents. So you might need to cover that side of things, but otherwise your balance and activity is sufficient. Ideal you'll like to have £3k at least for the 6 month period but that's not always possible.

Don't hold off applying do it, if you've done everythign you need to, then just apply, you'll be fine I'm sure.

Is it possible to submit the case from the UK for someone in Pakistan? I will be the sponsor and it would be much easier if we could submit it from here. I think the only things that are in Pakistan are my Wife's Passport, CNIC and the Nikah Nama. We could get scanned copies of those sent over here.

Thanks for the help so far.

I'm filling out the visa application and completing the covering letter myself. Some of my friends have mentioned that I need to have a solicitor certify that my enclosed documents are true and genuine, which would be done by stamping my papers.

Is this actually a requirement? Nowhere on the application form does it mention this.

Your wife have to submit the application in person as they will take her finger print and she need to submit her passport so they can stamp it when they will issue her visa ,( this is my opinion may b someone else give u better advise)

Hi guys where can you do A1 english test in Faisalabad or Lahore? what is the procedure to book for test do you have to go down and book it? and what can one do to prepare for test?

Can someone send me a template or copy of cover letter, and letter of support for parents as they will be paying all bills, food etc.

How do you put all your papers together in a bundle or what do they accept?

Would 10,000 pounds in savings be enough? i'm on dla aswell, and have recently setup my own online business (LTD i'm sole director) will be making 500 - 1000 a month?

Do funds for spouse visa have to be to maintain for 2 years or 27 months?

Thank you all in advance such a daunting task

Hmmm so with the Nikah nama (urdu + English) they want a registered and endorsed document.

So would it say on the document that this Nikah nama has been approved by so and so union council...

The original nikkah nammah should have the seal ( stamp) of the Union Council where the marriage was registered. That should suffice.

The English translated version should state " This is a true translation of the nikkah Nammah of ( name of couples). It should then be signed by the person who translated it.

You need to help people by being more clear.

It seems like you're saying you got refused because of lack of communication, lack of income and insufficient proof of accommodation and/or the size of the property.

The only difficulty in those you should have is with the accommodation since you're living with someone who rents.
