Tier 1 (General) dependant visa application from India

Hi,

My recent bank statement dated on 29th October.
When is the latest date I can apply for the visa? Is it 28th November?

This is for Tier1 G dependent application from India.
I am plannning to apply by attending VFS centre and paying the fee by cash.

It would be really helpful if you can advice.

You should be ok as your application date will be 28th.

All,
I am planning to book an appointment for 28th Nov.
Please comment if there is any risk.
(The reason I am looking for the latest date is due to the possible lag in getting the marriage certificate)

28th of November and no later, unless you wait for your next monthly bank statement to arrive.

If the marriage certificate is not supposed to have photographs then UKBA does not require them to be on it either.

If the certificate is not in English, make sure that you provide English translation along with it.

I got Marriage Certificate from Church. Then I got Marriage Certificate from Panchayat as well.
Should I subimit both the certificates? If not, which is the one I have to submit?

The one that is recognized as a valid and legal evidence of marriage as per law(s) of the country in which the marriage was solemnized / registered.

Thanks sushdmehta and everyone.

I applied for my wife's dependent visa on 28th Nov and got the visa on 3rd Dec.
I have submitted the following documents:-
1. Application form filled
2. Photographs
3. Passport
4. Marriage certificate.
5. Copies of my passport showing my current visa and entry/exit immigration stamp pages
6. Bank statements for last 3 months

a. Wedding invitation card
b. Wedding photos
c. Payslips for last 3 months
d. Rent Agreement/Council Tax
e. Airline ticket for my marriage travel.

My wife got Tier1 general dependent visa (entry clearance) stamped on her passport. She is planning to travel to UK soon.

Is there anything else needs to be done?
Should she take a medical check-up/certificate or so...?

It would be great if you can advice.

Quick question, have you shown 533 pounds as maintenance funds for your dependant or did you have to show anything(800£) for yourself?

I did not have to show £800 for myself as it was only my wife's application, not mine. However I had more than £1333 (533+800) throughout the required period.

Hi there,

I went to UK for the first time in 2006 to do my masters, as a student.
At that time, I got my medical done. I was advised so by my friends as it was the first time that I was entering UK. Makes sense, I guess!
It it is the first time that ur wife is coming to UK, then probably getting a medical wont hurt..to be on the safe side. But am not sure if it is mentioned in any of their rules though!

Medical is not mandatory unless otherwise it has been mentioned. If at all medical is required and if you/your wife does not have one, then it would not be serious, they would do xray in airport itself, only draw back is, will take extra hours to get out of the airport.

In my case first time when i entered they did xray in heathrow airport, it took extra 1 hour for me to get out of the airport.

When my wife traveleld first time in 2010 they dint even ask any xray.
