The guidance elaborates this in paragraphs 205 & 206.

Tier-2 Jeneral

Hi,

I also have a similar situation.
Para 206 says it should be outside your normal working hours but what if its within normal working hours then? Would it be illegal? I have a situation where I have a half day job from one employer (my sponsor employer). But from another company i have some work which needs to be carried out almost during same time. Can I take up that?

You can't do it if it falls within the normal working hours for which your COS was issued. I'm merely citing the guidance verbatim so it's up to you to decide if you are able to fulfill this position given the scope of that directive.

No. I only make comments in public so that anything said can be challenged or affirmed by others and I believe that is a good example for you and others to follow. Otherwise seek competent private professional advice from a registered legitimate source

Oh.. I understand and respect your saying.

Further to my query.. if the contract papers does not specify any specific time and just specifies the no of hrs which does not exceed 20 hrs per week so in that case can I accept the job from other employer (who is not my sponsor).

I appreciate all your comments in this regard.

get2know, How are you doing a half time job (I assume you mean part time?) when you must work for the sponsor/employer full time ? I believe you got TIER2 based on a full time job for your company ?

Bit confused here?

Also the work must be the same level of what you're doing as your main job.
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on :)

Hi Guru,

I am into contracting through my umbrella company and working on daily rate irrespective of full time or part time. So if I am getting even half day work with good rate it fulfills my CoS salary. And this how I am planning to take another same kind of job like some project based or freelancing and that salary I want to get processed by another company (who is not my sponsor). So here by remaining in the guidelines I am not trying to do anything illegal. Please suggest.
