Hi to all,
I am studying a topup MBA.I have a visa for 5th of December2011 and my dissertation submission deadline is 22nd of November 2011. The result will be published in 26th of January 2012. The problem is that while waiting for result can I apply visa extension?

you can't extend a tier 4 visa on the basis you are waiting for your results.

in order to apply for extension of your existing leave, you need to have a CAS letter from a college or university. Its unlikely that you will get CAS only for the purpose of waiting results. You need to speak to your college or university about this, the only thing that is possible is that you get admission in another course and again that would depend on your college whether to accept you as a Tier 4 student on a new course or not. You will have to meet all the requirements of Tier 4 including maintenance.

Hope this helps

Can I apply PWS before the result come out? I ll send the result sheet as soon as they published. It will take approximately 30 days.

you will need the letter from your institution stating your course title, start & end date and that you are likely to pass. (provided your institution & course meet the requirements of PSW).

no - you need to meet the rules on the date of the application - therefore if you have not been awarded you degree when you apply, your application will fall for refusal.

the letter is required to say that the application has passed, and been awarded the degree, not that s/he is likely to pass.

You can't get a CAS purely to be in the UK to get your results, however if you request a CAS now, your university/college may be willing to issue one on the basis that (presumably) you have been given an extension to hand in your dissertation (as if your course was originally due to end on 22 Nov you wouldn't have an end date of 5th Dec). If they issue you a CAS then you can apply for an extension before your course ends and should be given an additional 2/4 months from the date of decision if your course has finished by then, depending on the length of the course.
