Provisional hostel booking as acommodation for Schengen visa

Hello,

I am on a student visa in the UK.

I am going to visit Spain in December. I want to stay in a cheap student hostel. The hostels I checked online ask for only 10% of the total booking cost (so, for example, if for 10 nights the cost is £150, I have to pay only £15 to reserve a place for myself and will have to pay the rest of the amount when I reach there). I would like to know if such a booking is considered to be valid proof of accommodation when applying for Spanish/Schengen visa?

I need help urgently because I have already booked my flight and don't want to waste money!

It is pretty much impossible to tell what the Spanish embassy will accept. They are not friendly, clear or consistent. Let us know how it goes.

I would guess it would be enough... But I do not know.
