Is the child automatically british?

Post by AntCoe » Mon Nov 07, 2011 8:52 pm

Hi Guys

I have a friend that requires some clarity regarding her son's BC status.

She was natuarlised last year based on UK Ancestry and then moved back home permanently to South Africa and give birth.

Now, is the child automatically british and can she apply for his BC passport straight away? Or is it slightly more complicated than that? Or does she need to register the child first as a BC and what section of the Act? If so, what form needs to be completed - she will be applying from outside the UK.

i know that if the child was born in the UK, he would have been automatically British...

Thanks in advance.

The child is automactially British (by decent). Mother can apply for his passport immidietly.
