Tier 1 Extension - When to apply

Post by nit_aro » Tue Nov 08, 2011 9:46 pm

Hi,

My Tier 1 Visa is getting expired on 6th Jan 2012. UKBA recommends to apply for Tier1 Extension 1 month before expiry.

How early can I apply for extension?
Would it be fine if I will apply 20 days before expiry of visa?

Thanks

1. As early as you wish to.
2. Yes.

Thumb rule to avoid the need for an unnecessary additional extension near the end of 5 year period: Whether applying by post or in-person, apply no earlier than 28 days before the expiry of current leave.
