Review of spouses cases refused on age alone
As well as formally lowering the spouse visa age back to 18 through a formal change to the Immigration Rules on 28 November 2011, the UK Border Agency is enabling the review of cases where applications were refused solely on the basis of not meeting the increased age requirement of 21.
You can ask for a review using the free application form if:
you received a refusal decision under paragraphs 277, 289AA, and 295AA of the Immigration Rules between 27 November 2008 and October 2011 and
the application was refused solely on age grounds and
both parties are aged 18 or over
An application for review must be made by 31 May 2012. After that date a new application will be needed and the full fee will need to be paid.
The guidance states that where an appeal is pending and the application was refused solely because your sponsor or you were aged between 18 and 20 UKBA will automatically reconsider your case and you need take no action now. I would suggest taking that advice with a pinch of salt and writing to the relevant ECO or in-country team and asking for a review anyway. The danger is that you will get as far as attending court, instructing a lawyer and so on only to find the decision is withdrawn on the day of the hearing, a colossal waste of everyone’s time and money.

Yes it will be required along with a copy of your tenancy agreement valid for minimum 6 months
2- How long the documents date is valid untill....I am gona sponsor my spouse in April 2012....can I arrange documents now e.g Employment refrence, as it is Nov 2011...will they still be valid ?
Normally 3 months ,as things can change if its longer than this period.
Employment letters should be no more tahn around 6 weeks, and last bank statement should be no more than 4 weeks old at time of handling application
Many thanks.

£90 is way too much just for an accomodation report, your looking at around £30.

Where can you do A1 english test in Lahore?
After how long do you get results? how long do you have to study for the test? No UKBA Approved in Faisalabad?
UKBA List just confuses me even more. PC won't open pdf file.
Congrats to everyone who have got visa, goodluck to all who are applying.
Please reply to this and previous post. Thank you

Usually on registered delivery it takes around 3 weeks for me.
Some of mine have even taken 4 weeks.

Salaam all,
For those who have been successful, could you please provide me with a list of documents and papers needed to submit a visa case in Pakistan for spouses?
So far from what I can think of is the following:
- Copies of my passport
- My bank statements
- Letters of employment
- Letter for accommodating
- Stamped Nikah Nama/Translated Nikah Nama
- Wife's Test Certificates
- Wife's TB test certificate
- Wife's passport
Is this all correct? Also, my documents, are copies enough or do they have to be the real thing?
Jzk.

Thank you shade00. I was wondering why my letter hasn't reached there yet, I also think Eid would mean post offices would also be closed! When I sent it, post office man said it normally would take 1 week.. so I was confused. Thanks!

Is it worth me appealing a rejection on the grounds of English language requirement not being part of the UKBA approved centres list?
I am getting my wife to now do the official IELTS through the british council, once we receive the certificate shall I just submit a fresh application or can I appeal the current rejection that was recieved today?

Yeah due to Eid it could prolong the duration of the letter getting there. Also it depends how quick it gets to the designated post office, or location of p/o in pak. The one i use from A.K mirpur ends takes 3-4 weeks. Its the same both ways wether i send my wife something and vice versa. I've sent a card around mid octover and she still has not received it. Wouldn't be surprised if the post office employees over there fiddle around with post. Thats why i feel a little cautious when i send a gift.
Thats why its really important to keep the postal reciepts when you send anything.
