On what basis are you applying for ILR? What form will you be using? If form SET(M), download the form and read it. It makes quite clear what sort of evidence is required.

Although i wasn't asked for any Cohabitation documents, i still collected some.

This included:

1. Council tax letter.
2. Marriage certificate.
3. Utility bills (electricity, gas, water etc).
4. Other letters in name of my wife including bank statements.

I guess if you read the instruction carefully, you need to provide the documents since you were last granted leave. This could vary depending upon your case.

Thanks

It looks difficult as there r no electricity / gas bill on behalf our name. I read in Set(M) tht we can show letter from friend or relative tht we r staying in the house last 2-3 year. Is tht ok .
I have MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE, I can get letter from our landlord and house agreement , and bank letter. This will be ok?

I will b using set(o) form
The "O" in SET(O) effectively means "other" .... a catch-all form where other forms are not applicable.

On what basis are you applying for ILR?

I think what John wants to know is what is your leave to stay? Have you only had one type of permit...work permit, hsmp or tier 1???? or combination of these

Hi Sushdmehta,

thx for this link. I have gone through the document there i didn't come across any document evidence for cohabitation.Where as when I m going through SET (O) for it asks for cohabitation evidence. This is confusing me lot.
Can u please tell me what exactly needed?

I know that you will be using the form SET(O), but if you download a form SET(M), and read that, you will see a lot of guidance about the evidence required to prove cohabitation.

I am WP+Tier(1) - due to apply in DEC' + Cohabitation Query

Post by newdec2011 » Sun Nov 13, 2011 11:59 am

I am WP+Tier(1) - due to apply ILR in 15th Dec'2011 ( First arrival in UK on 11th Jan'2007 + Tier(1) extension on 5th feb'2010) .

ON SET(O) and Page no. - 32

there is statement about cohabitation :

" If you have a spouse or civil partner listed in section 2 of this application form who is applying at the same
time as you, please provide documentary evidence of cohabitation since you were last granted leave (up to a
maximum of two years). Evidence provided should cover the whole period and be in the form of official letters
or documents, addressed to yourself and your spouse. "

My wife joined me in Jan'2008 and left india in May'2010 for approx one year ( to support her family) then she joined me again in Feb'2011 untill now , so is that OK ?

She was with me in UK for more than 2 years out of 5 years .Can she apply ILR with me ? Please suggest.
