Her own mother (in China) gets sick on the bus so a flight to Ireland is out of the question.
Traditionally when Chinese ladies have a baby they don't go outside the home for the first month and the mother takes charge of feeding, bathing and pretty much everything mother and baby related, they have very strong beliefs as to what can and cannot be done for the first month. A case in point - washing the hair is unhealthy for the first month after birth!!
I've suggested getting a Chinese nanny here but she really would prefer someone she knows and trusts.
She has a good friend that now lives in America and has a Green Card there who is also Chinese that has offered to come over and look after her for the price of the plane ticket which of course would be great!
Is this doable? Her friend doesn't work in America but lives there with her American husband.
Would we be able to sponsor her to come here for a couple of months considering she has no job to return to there? But her husband and home are there now and she has a Green Card, is that enough?
Anyone have any ideas, is this something worth pursuing?
