Tier 1 general dependent

Can anyone plz give me some information.I m on tier1 general visa. I want to know tht can dependent of tier 1 live out of country more then 3 month. Is this 3 month rules apply on both dependent and main applicant r just on main applicant. I have been told tht dependent can live out of uk more then 3 month but I m confused.my wife and kid are going for 4 month. Is this will effect on ILR
