covering letter

Hi,
Can someone provide me a format of a covering letter to apply for ILR.

I have a combination of WP and Tier 1 (general) to add up to 5 years.

Is there something about your situation that is not obvious and needs clarification by you for the avoidance of any doubt? I can't think of any other reason for you to enclose a personal letter from yourself with the application.

I have been used to include a covering letter with all my applications to UKBA so far. Was trying to find one for ILR too.

I guess as I am going in person I do not need a letter.
