RESIDENCY PROOF FOR PR

Post by BOKMAN » Wed Nov 16, 2011 2:37 pm

"Proof of residence: this can include tenancy agreements, utility bills and bank statements"

Is it ok to provide one of the above listed as your proof of continuous 5yrs residency or are you bound to provide all three?

Thanks!

The key word here is can. These are used as examples. There is no requirement to provide a specific document. However, it is important to cover the 5 years.

this can include is not the same as this should include

So you do not need to provide all three. These are just three examples of acceptable proofs, there are many more ways of proving your residence.

What is suitable depends on your circumstances: for example, homeowners do not normally have tenancy agreements.

Just curious really.. We have proofs for about 4 years and 8 months. the first 4 months are missing as we moved around in the beginning. Altough we are married only for 3 years and 9 months but together for about 5.5 years. Can we still applly for PR on durable relationship. Got all the payslips for 4 years 8 months and employers letters for over 5 years which was requested from them recently so obviously on the current address.

Have you been issued a RC based on durable relationship? Strictly speaking, time starts from either marriage (if already in the UK) or when the HO recognise the relationship although they have been cases mentioned that the HO (or a judge following an appeal) recognised time spent before marriage.

The form is not written particularly well. It makes many suggestions, but can be short on specifics.

Not everyone will have had a tenancy agreement, so one can safely take that out of the equation as being a requirement.

The more paperwork you provide the better, that includes receipts that prove you guys travelled together, payslips, bank statements, utility bills, tenancy agreements etc......

Its all about proving durability. So the more the merrier , it worked for us , we got our PR in 2 months. :D
